Hurricane ETA
Earlier in the COVID pandemic onset we heard of CHE colleagues getting sick and even dying of this deadly virus in Nicaragua, along with overcrowded wards and lack of necessary resources to fight the pandemic. Unemployment, like many other countries, has been on the rise, and economic recession is anticipating 2 million Nicaraguans to live with less than 1.76 US dollars per day in the near future.
Medical Ambassadors has re-established communications with the team, due to our growing involvement to prevent Human Trafficking in Nicaragua, and their desire to create awareness in the communities where they work. Recently, Nicaragua has been severely impacted by Hurricane Eta and our help has been requested. Medical Ambassadors is engaged in responding to the immediate needs of 525 people – 180 of them are girls and 200 are women.
We count on the support of others, called to respond with their resources, as our partners are called to respond with their presence and involvement to see these dear people come through victorious and with hope.
