In the heart of Jerusalem, a struggling community in Cape Verde, Maria was facing an uphill battle. With no access to basic sanitation or clean water, life was already difficult. But as a single mother of three, her biggest challenge was survival. Without a job, she relied on the generosity of others to feed and care for her children.

A New Opportunity Through Sewing & Community

Nine months ago, Maria joined a small community group where she not only found support and encouragement but also accepted Christ. Her faith became a source of strength, but she still longed for a way to provide for her family.

In June 2024, an opportunity arose—our team launched a cutting and sewing course for women in her community. Maria eagerly enrolled, hoping it could open doors for a better future. As the training progressed, her natural talent quickly became evident. She stood out as one of the top students, mastering the skills with dedication and passion.

A Life Transformed

Even before completing the course, Maria’s hard work paid off—she was offered a job as a seamstress in a local shop with a good salary. For the first time, she could provide for her children independently, breaking free from the cycle of dependency.

But Maria’s transformation wasn’t just economic. She continues to be an active member of her small group, growing in faith, confidence, and hope for the future.
