Beacon of Light
A Beacon of Light
In August 2024, Sister Sroy Chheng’s world turned upside down. When her husband passed away, she was left alone to raise five children in a small Cambodian village. Life became a daily battle—struggling to provide for her family, she worked at a small restaurant, earning just enough to survive. The weight of grief and poverty crushed her spirit. Without hope, without vision, and without the means to seek medical care for her often-sick children, she felt trapped in despair.
But God saw her pain and sent help through His people.
Pastor Kim Heang and Leader Heang Sari began visiting her family, not just offering words of encouragement, but also meeting tangible needs—bringing love gifts and constantly lifting her up in prayer. Their kindness, their steadfast support, and their faith in God’s power slowly began to rekindle something inside her: hope.
They walked with her through her struggles, offering spiritual guidance and practical support. Through them, she saw what it meant to live in Christ’s love.
A New Beginning
In December 2024, after months of witnessing God’s faithfulness through the love of His people, Sister Sroy Chheng made the most life-changing decision—she gave her life to Jesus Christ.
Now, she walks in faith, attending church every Sunday, actively participating in Bible study and disease prevention training with other believers. She no longer faces the future with fear but with faith and purpose. She has found a family in Christ, a new vision for her life, and a deep peace that only God can provide.
Sister Sroy Chheng’s story is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love. Through the compassion of others and the power of the Gospel, a grieving widow found strength, joy, and a new identity in Christ.
At Medical Ambassadors International (MAI), we believe in walking alongside individuals like Sister Sroy Chheng, offering holistic transformation—spiritual, physical, social, and economic. Because when we serve, love, and disciple, lives are changed for eternity.
